A bit about me....
In my pursuit of artistic expression, I am drawn to capturing those genuine human moments, often found in the subtleties between the lines or within deliberate movements.
My passion for photography ignited early at the age of six, when I first experimented with a black-and-white flip-top camera. Growing up in a vibrant Ashram surrounded by talented directors, photographers, actors, models, writers, and artists, I absorbed their diverse perspectives, shaping my artistic sensibilities. This environment sparked my evolution from capturing still images to exploring flipbooks, claymation shorts, and animations.
The convergence of art, imagery, and fashion became evident when I started adorning my walls with magazines from England, expanding my visual horizons. Simultaneously, I delved into photography for a local newspaper and my school, honing my skills in film development. Despite the era's tendency for girls to be in front of the camera, I naturally gravitated towards modeling and acting, gaining insights into production dynamics with every set experience.
The collaborative spirit on set mirrored the harmonious ethos of the Ashram, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose. Following a modeling tour in Europe, I ventured into agenting and eventually became a partner in a SAG franchised agency, broadening my understanding of the industry.
A pivotal moment reignited my passion for directing when I was tasked with producing and directing commercial spots. In 1999, I directed "Broken," a 35mm featurette premiering at the Telluride International Film Festival, marking the beginning of my global film journey. Subsequently, directing projects like "First Watch," web series, documentaries, and commercials further enriched my storytelling capabilities.
Amidst these ventures, my love for still photography endures, thriving through word-of-mouth referrals and a steadfast dedication to capturing authentic moments.
